Merchandising Mecca
In class today we heard from the Merchandise and Store Operations of Disneyland Resort. We learned how they come up with new products in conjunction with Walt Disney World. It was very interesting and they had a lot of important people present to the class, which made it not seem soooooo long.
After class Jase, Matt, and our friend Holly went to Universal Studios Hollywood. This time we actually made it in time to do the studio tour! While most of it was pretty lame and staged, the best part was Wisteria Lane. It's weird because there were super fake flowers on everything and they look so much smaller in person than when we see them on Desperate Housewives.

| Stopped by for a nice photo op. |
On the way back we stopped by a lookout point on Mulholland Drive. From this point you could see the Hollywood Bowl,
The Hollywood sign,
and downtown LA. It was an impressive view.
Tomorrow I'm back in Tomorrowland. I love my mid-week weekends.

That is Crazy
Class is soooo early! Remember how in my class we listen to important people talk about the different areas of Disney Parks? Today we heard from the leaders of Food and Beverage. The two people in charge of ALL food for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. We were told all about how they develop restaurants from the ground up, normally starting with the theme and story that Walt Disney Imagineering comes up with for the specific location. Based on that they come up with these kind of food they will serve there.
They told us that small things like the size of the cheese on the cheese burgers can effect millions of dollars because of the shear volume they serve. Disney Parks is #43 in food service volume for all restaurant companies in the United States. THAT IS CRAZY! It's also pretty cool how the company works together with Walt Disney World, while still providing different products for each Park.
After class I rode the bus to get my hair cut so I can stay with in the Disney Look. I'll post a picture tomorrow so you can judge it.
Tonight, my roommate Matt and I went to Shakeys Pizza for dinner. Oh how I love pizza.
That's all for now. Night folks.

Gross. Class.
We had class super early this morning. I'm taking a class called Professional Development Study. Basically the people in charge of different departments of the Disneyland Resort come in and talk about their departments. Sounds great, but there are 199 people in the class, so it's not very personal.
Today was not that exciting because it was the first day and there was not a speaker today. So we had to play games and listen to stories from our instructor. It was a little boring, hopefully it will be more interesting next week.
I think I might be getting a cold. I have been taking vitamins and keep hand sanitizer in my pocket, but I'm starting to get a sore throat and runny nose. I'm going to have to buy some meds tomorrow. I was told by my trainer that all the germs in the world come through the Disneyland gates everyday and I will get sick often. Great. :o(
